Pastor Trevor Deering, was born December 18, 1987. His parents were Calvin and Patsy Deering. Under their direction, Trevor and his sister Amanda was raised in a Christian home. It was here they would be taught that serving Christ was not just about talking the talk, but rather it was about walking the talk. Calvin and Patsy both taught their children that God had a plan and a purpose for their lives. They were taught God's love that was shown through his son Jesus. They were taught a respect for God and his house. They were taught the importance of having a fear of God and also living a holy life. They also learned that it was more blessed to give then to recieve. Tithing what belonged to God was always fundamental.
At age seven, it is said that Trevor as he was laying in his bed one night, with his mothers direction asked Jesus Christ into his heart. One year later under the ministry of Pastor Ross Pitcher he would follow Christ in water baptism by complete immersion. Then as time would pass Pastor Trevor took a great interest in guitar playing. It was then under the leadership of Pastor David Emberley that Trevor began to play the guitar in church. Very quite and very shy he would sit their week after week playing his guitar, with no knowledge of what God was about to do next. Until the morning of November 3, 2002 Trevor would recieve the bapstism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. It was this moment that took Trevor to new heights in God and his walk with God. Pastor Trevor began to become more bolder, and also more energictic for the things of God. As time would pass Pastor Trevor felt himself drawing more and more closer to God, and as Pastor Trevor drawed close to God, he would discover that God began to draw closer to him. At sixteen years of age Trevor began to wrestle with God, as he began to sense and feel that God was directing/calling him into ministry. Pastor Trevor tells of how one night while in a services, he was seeking the face of God, looking for answers. As he talked with God he told God that if he really wanted him to go into the ministry, then he would direct someone to him to confirm this calling. The service would pass, the closing prayer was said and still no confirmation. But has he was leaving the church, a lady that Trevor had never met before came and began to speak to him. This lady had told Pastor Trevor of how she was spoken to by God to come to him. She went on to say that she was out in her car ready to drive off the parkenlot, but then said told her husband that we cannot leave yet. So she came back into the church, came up to Pastor Trevor and told him that God had placed his hand upon his life, and that he was going to use him in a great way. Pastor Trevor then thanked the lady, not getting her name and never seeing her after, but sure glad that she obeyed God's voice when he spoke. Pastor Trevor would then graduate and go directly to BIble School, where he spent his first year in World Harvest Bible College, Columbus Ohio under the leadership of Pastor Rod Parsley. He would then transfer and finish his remainder two years in Vanguard Bible school, which is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Pastor Trevor recalls many times that God's hand moved during his three years. He remembers one instance of a lady who was bound to the wheel chair, with a broken leg. Pastor Trevor along with the others in the group began to pray for this lady, only to see her step out of that wheel chair and begin to dance around. The hand of God moved mightly over the three years, he watched and viewed as hundreds of souls would come to Christ. He saw God heal sick bodies, and also witnessed the casting out of devils in Jesus name. After completing is three year diploma in Pastoral studies, he would then become a credintal holder with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the summer of 2009, Pastor Trevor became Youth and Children's Pastor in Charlottetown, Labrador. It was there he made some great friends, who are still close friends to this day. He would then move back to his hometown, Shearstown, where he would during this year find a special woman in whom he would spend the rest of his life with. It was Febraury 18, 2012 he would marry April Deering, and also during this year he would adopt Caleb Deering as his son. If you were to talk with Pastor Trevor or spend time with him, you would very quickly discover that April and Caleb is Trevor's world. He his a proud husband, and a proud Father. Then during the summer of 2012 Pastor Trevor, April, and Caleb moved to Hawkes Bay, where he currently serves as Pastor. Pastor Trevor is seen in our community as a leader, and a person who is longing for revival.
